President’s Reflection on an Extraordinary 113th National Dental Association Annual Convention

← All news

We reflect on the outstanding week in Richmond, celebrating a convention marked by exceptional scientific programming, meaningful fellowship, and inspired leadership. From the President’s Symposium, Architects of Change: The Future of the Oral Health Workforce, to an unforgettable President’s Gala, our educational sessions, the House of Delegates, and the many opportunities for connection and collaboration, the 113th Annual Convention demonstrated the strength, vision, and commitment of the National Dental Association.

The National Dental Association is especially proud of the 2026 Womens Health Symposium. Under the leadership of Dr. Brandi Hair and the Womens Health Symposium Committee, the symposium delivered a powerful and inspiring program that celebrated excellence, elevated important conversations, and honored outstanding leaders within our profession. The overwhelmingly positive response to the program itself reflected the vision, preparation, and dedication of the committee.

We also recognize that the luncheon experience did not meet the high standard of excellence that our members, guests, honorees, and sponsors have come to expect from the National Dental Association. For that, I offer my sincere apology and accept full responsibility and accountability as President of the Association.

Despite unexpected operational challenges beyond their control, Dr. Hair and the Womens Health Symposium Committee responded with extraordinary professionalism, resilience, and grace. Their commitment ensured that an outstanding program continued for our members and guests. The National Dental Association expresses its full support and confidence in the Womens Health Symposium Committee and its leadership and extends our deepest appreciation to Dr Hair and the committee for their service.

I have been encouraged by the many attendees, sponsors, and leaders who shared how inspired they were by the quality of the program, the recognition of our honorees, and the dedication demonstrated throughout the event. Those conversations remind us that the true strength of the NDA is found in the passion and commitment of our people.

The heart of the National Dental Association is found in its people. That was evident in the outstanding educational programs, the President’s Symposium, the Women’s Health Symposium, the President’s Gala, and in the countless volunteers, sponsors, speakers, and leaders whose dedication ensured that our mission remained at the center of everything we accomplished. Together, we celebrate our successes, learn from our challenges, and move forward stronger as one National Dental Association.

Thank you for your continued trust, support, and commitment to our shared mission.

Wallace J. Bellamy, DMD
