sDr. Denerick Simpson

Student Doctor Denerick Simpson is a native of Doerun, Georgia, a small rural community. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Teacher Education from Savannah State University, graduating summa cum laude and as class valedictorian. A first-generation college graduate, Simpson is a former K–12 science educator in Georgia and was recognized with the Top Teacher Award and Most Inspirational Educator Award during his tenure.

He currently serves as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve and is pursuing his Doctor of Dental Medicine at High Point University Workman School of Dental Medicine as a member of the inaugural Class of 2028. He aspires to pursue a career in pediatric and academic dentistry.

Simpson is President of the Student National Dental Association at the Workman School of Dental Medicine and serves as the SNDA-NDA House of Delegates and Board of Trustees Liaison. He also serves nationally as the Administrative Board Secretary for the ADEA Council of Students, Residents and Fellows. Simpson is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and is passionate about leadership, mentorship and serving underserved communities. In his free time, he enjoys working out, trying new restaurants and spending time with family.
