Scholarship Program Application Guidelines
- Freshmen or First Year Scholarship

- Eligibility requirements
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or greater
- United States citizenship/permanent resident status
- Verifiable community service
- Acceptance letter to accredited dental school
(from Dean of Students)
- Letter of recommendation from undergraduate professor
- Pre-Doctoral
- Eligibility requirements
- Financial Need
- United States citizenship/permanent resident status
- Must be 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year dental student in good standing
- Evidence of community service
- SNDA membership – verification can be copy of card, letters from SNDA
Presidents, copies of canceled checks, or receipts from the local chapters.
- Process
- Letter of request for consideration from candidate
- SAR or GAP financial aid report
- Two letters of recommendation (one must come from the dean)
- Reapplication in subsequent years if possible
- Post-Doctoral Award - $10,000.00 each

- Pursuit of degrees in programs of discipline, including sub-specialty
areas of dentistry, public health, administration, pediatrics, research, law, etc.

The application must be received with all supporting documents included in a single
package. ONLY completed applications will be reviewed.
The NDAF Scholarship Committee reviews applications in August. Recipients are
awarded scholarships in November.
NATIONAL DENTAL ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION
SCHOLARSHIP POLICIES AND GUIDELINES
1. National Dental Association Foundation staff and their immediate family
members are not eligible to receive a scholarship from the NDAF Colgate
Palmolive Scholarship Program.
(“Immediate Family is defined as staff member’s spouses, children, and grandchildren.”)
2. Members of the Board of Directors of NDAF and Scholarship Committee of
NDAF are not allowed to participate in the discussions of awards when a family
member is the candidate for scholarship or the family member has put his or
her applications in for consideration.
